Our Mission

Founded in 2013, City Garden School is a private K-8 school located in the heart of Columbia, Missouri and has an enrollment of 90 students in Kindergarten through eighth grade. Our Waldorf-inspired curriculum embraces whole-child education emphasizing an enriched curriculum that is arts integrated and nature immersive. With two campuses - a main campus in north central Columbia and an outdoor campus located at Camp Takimina, City Garden teachers are able to enrich curriculum through place-based learning while developing students intellectual and social/emotional capacities.

As a private school that is tuition based, tuition covers just over 80% of the school's expenses. The remaining 20% comes from fundraisers, grants, and the generous support from individuals wishing to support the school and it's mission. Support for City Garden through CoMo Gives enables the school to further develop programs in fine art and music, as well as expanding access to outdoor education.
