The mission of Good Dads is to serve all fathers and father-figures who are ready to get actively engaged in the lives of their children.

Good Dads is the only organization in Missouri solely focused on increasing responsible fatherhood. We know how important fathers are, and we are committed to making sure this integral element of the family is not ignored, but rather, is supported and celebrated. Since the nonprofit’s inception, we have equipped, empowered and encouraged hundreds of fathers to be more engaged with their children, contributed more than $3.5 million in child support payments for the Missouri Department of Social Services-Family Support Division, and created and maintained a network of resources for dads that help them to be more engaged parents. 

Because we are a nonprofit, we rely on money from generous donors like you to continue doing our work. 

• Strong Start Sponsor - $35 Covers class materials for a father completing one of our Good Dads courses, empowering him with parenting and relationship skills that last a lifetime. 
• Good Dads Champion - $70 Supports a dad through the entire New Pathways program. As a Good Dads graduate he can build a healthy family, happy children and contribute to a thriving community.
• Relationship Builder - $100 Provides coffee and donuts for 1 Strong Schools event helping fathers connect with their kids in a positive school setting and encouraging involvement in education.
• Pathway Partner - $200 Provides ongoing mentoring and follow-up support for multiple graduates of Good Dads programs, helping them stay on the path toward stability and strong families. 

 

Many of the men we serve have encountered significant obstacles that make it difficult to stay connected with their children and communities. Through our New Pathways for Good Dads program, we provide fathers with practical tools to strengthen communication, overcome parenting challenges, and rebuild trust. This program is made up of two classes; Good Dads 2.0, which is a 16-week class that emphasizes fatherhood skills, and Healthy Relationships Are Within My Reach, which is an 8-week class that provides tools to foster stronger, more positive relationships. Through the New Pathways for Good Dads program, participants gain support from other dads, learn about child-support and co-parenting, and often see families reunited as a result of their efforts.  

Our impact does not stop with supporting dads. Through our Strong Schools initiative, fathers are invited to join their children in family-centered school activities that celebrate teamwork, connection, and fun. When fathers are able to engage in activities and conversation with their children, the children are more likely to have strong verbal skills, have fewer behavior problems in school, get better grades, and show an increase in curiosity and problem-solving skills.
