OUR MISSION

Since 1965, we have helped people overcome the barriers in their lives to find gainful employment and transform their future. We provide innovative training, education, and employment assistance designed to meet each person where they need support the most to help them achieve their goals and change their lives for the better.

HOW WE HELP OUR COMMUNITY

We help people reach financial independence and self-sufficiency. Whether they are recently unemployed, currently homeless, trying to find a job that accommodates their disability, or facing another barrier in their lives, we help people find their passion, identify their strengths, and prepare for a career that not only fulfills their basic needs, but provides emotional satisfaction.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP:

We need volunteers to help as:

  1. tutors
  2. office workers
  3. career lab assistants
  4. mentors

We could use in-kind donations of:

  1. office chairs or desks
  2. construction tools
  3. printing services
  4. professional services

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

When someone achieves economic independence, not only does it change that person’s life, it changes their entire family’s future. It decreases poverty overall and benefits the entire community. Everyone deserves to have equitable access to the opportunities that higher education provides, and your support makes that possible at Job Point by making scholarships available to all.

As inflation has made the cost of living harder to afford for more families in our community, the need for fast-paced, affordable training programs that quickly get folks into well-paying careers has never been greater. With your support, more people will be able to take advantage of the opportunities at Job Point to increase their income and create stability for themselves and those who rely on them.

WAYS YOUR GIFT COULD HELP SOMEONE

  1. $50 would help pay for transportation for a newly-hired candidate to get back and forth to their new job for one week.
  2. $100 would cover the cost of a new outfit to wear to their big interview for the job of their dreams. It could pay for new clothes to wear or supplies needed once they are hired.
  3. $500 could go toward a scholarship for a student wanting to enroll in one of our classes

All of the funds raised through this campaign will go toward the greatest needs at Job Point and that's supporting our students through scholarships and meeting their needs where they are.

Funds raised last year were used to provide scholarships for students from across mid-Missouri. Because of your support, people were able to learn new skills, earn certifications in trades like carpentry, HVAC, highway heavy construction, CNA, or office technology. Equipped with a stronger sense of purpose and confidence, they were able to go out and find a good paying job, and provide for themselves and their family. For some, it was the difference between staying in a shelter and finally getting a stable apartment.

Thank you for your support.
