Peaceworks educates and advocates for a better world, focusing on peace, justice, sustainability, and climate action. We hold classes; host discussions, forums, films, and speakers; coordinate Earth Day; hold sustainable living educational events; hold candidate forums and issue surveys; hold frequent peace actions; and operate the non-profit Peace Nook.

Peaceworks embraces and embodies a vision of a peaceful, just, sustainable, and participatory world. We are intergenerational. For decades we’ve shared skills and involved youth in the process of addressing some of the greatest challenges facing humanity. While our concerns and perspective are global, our actions are local. We are resilient, having been at this since 1982.

While we would like to focus our efforts primarily around addressing the climate crisis and hastening the transition to a clean, green energy future, we find ourselves on a world wracked by war. Tragically, death and destruction continue to rain down in Israel/Palestine, in Ukraine, in Sudan, in Burma and more. We, therefore, have been largely focused on being peace advocates. On March 4thwe kicked off a daily peace vigil and, to date, we have gathered for peace seven days a week for more than 270 consecutive days. We also are working to oppose a new nuclear arms race.

Peaceworks is a very frugal grassroots non-profit. Most work is done by volunteers. We reach out to students and community members, sharing information, skills, and hope for a livable future. Our ability to address critical concerns like the climate crisis is based upon having membership and community support. Your kind, generous contributions will allow us to redouble and expand these efforts.
