ABOUT US
Missouri Academy of Music is a non-profit string orchestra school that builds a diverse musical community to train, mentor, and enrich young musicians through performances and collaborations with a focus on service to the community.  This organziation was founded by Maestro Kirk Trevor and Maria Trevor.

VISION
Our goal is to create meaningful experiences for both students and audiences.  This program for talented musicians encourages a dedication to excellence through weekly rehearsals that encompass small and large ensemble playing.  Additionally, the program broadens musicianship and empowers students with extra-musical skills including public speaking, entrepreneurship, and social media use.

With a team of outstanding teachers and coaches, co-founders Kirk and Maria Trevor offer students a learning environment where they will gain confidence, cultivate character, and develop discipline all while having a great time, creating memories and relationships that will guide them for a lifetime.

The program also promotes civic responsibility by sharing live music with those who are unable to attend performances in the traditional settings.  Academy students learn the importance of sharing their gifts with a wide range of neighbors, including senior citizens, the sick and infirm, as well as those with disabilities, allowing student to see firsthand the healing and transformative power of music.

WHAT DOES MY DONATION HELP COVER?

• Tuition scholarships:  This covers full or partial tuition fees each semester to allow students of all financial backgrounds to participate.  We would like to expand this scholarship fund to include concert attire for students with need.
• Overhead expenses:  This covers administrative costs, facility rental, orchestra sheet music purchases, website updates, concert audio/video, photography, and food/beverages for students
• Coaching & Conducting Stipends:  We currently employ two conductors, five professional music coaches for the older Virtuosi students, and four high school/college aged coaches for our younger Sinfonietta students.
