Our Mission
CMNEA is a group of Columbia educators who believe every child deserves a great public school. We support and advocate for educators and students. The success of any education program relies on the strength of its teachers. We support the recruitment and retention of a high quality, diverse teaching staff for CPS. We are also an original collaborator in the CPS Home Grown teacher program.
Why We're Great!
Each spring we present a scholarship to a high school senior pursuing a degree in education in each of our three comprehensive high schools. We prioritize these scholarships to our Home Grown students of color who will return to teach in Columbia Public Schools as our colleagues. This supports one of our missions which is to improve the diversity of the teaching staff of CPS.
