ORR STREET STUDIOS
Early 2006, Orr Street Studios had previously been a dilapidated warehouse, a covered shipping dock, a concrete block storage shed, and a shabby old house. Today, we can see the recycled materials of these buildings in the designs of our 16 sculptural doors opening into artists studios created by Chris Teeter.
We are passionate about providing a welcoming space to our community with our variety of free events, exhibits, and programs such as Second Saturdays for Kids, Hearing Voices Seeing Visions, the LGBTQ+ exhibit during Columbia's Mid-MO PrideFest, and the AIR Program for Black and marginalized artists with help from the Veterans United Foundation.
We have 24 artists renting studios at Orr St. where they can create, display their work, and connect with the public and potential clients. Orr Street Studios hosts a variety of public events, including art films, literary readings, artist exhibitions, gallery talks, workshops, and seminars. A popular First Friday spot in Columbia's North Village Arts District, community members can visit these artists and our building's creative design.
By donating to Orr Street Studios, you not only get the opportunity to participate in a creative and engaging experience, but also help ensure that we can continue to serve as an art hub for Columbia, MO.
Your contribution allows us to provide free, inclusive events every month,
fostering a vibrant artistic community for all.
