Red Slipper Warrior Project

Mission Statement:
Red Slipper Warrior Project instills courage and confidence in women and girls fighting cancer with tools to reinforce their self esteem and harness a Warrior spirit. 

After the death of founder Tim Tinnin's wife, Angie, he founded Red Slipper Warrior Project to fill the void in treatment that he saw during Angie's illness.  The emotional element of a cancer diagnosis is too often dismissed.  Angie used to say, "I look lousy, I feel lousy, people treat me different.....I don't even feel like a girl anymore.  I just think the only thing anyone ever sees is "cancer". 
She felt like cancer defined her. 
Cancer is something you get, not something you are. 


Red Slipper Warrior Project uses a three-pronged approach to empowering women on a cancer journey to be the best fighters possible. 
1) Be constant reminders to the "Warrior" that she's still beautiful, still a "girl", cancer doesn't define her....SHE defines her. 
2) Tim spent 32 years as a Missouri State Trooper and spent 8 years on the State SWAT Team.  Because the parallels between a SWAT operation and the mindset needed to beat cancer are so similar, Red Slipper Warrior Project channels a SWAT mentality of "Goin' in HOT!" when approaching the challenges of cancer treatments.  
Warriors are given physical items that continually validate their self esteem and help create a Warrior mindset. This effectively changes how women "do" cancer and increases their ability to thrive despite her challenges. 
3) Helping build "the team" to be more than people that just type "thoughts and prayers" on social media.  Instead,they become active, engaged partners in our Warrior's journey by becoming "People of Action". 

Red Slipper Warrior Project is unique in that it doesn't provide or represent "comfort items" or "care packages".  
This is Battle Gear.  This isn't "nice to have" things.
This is NEED to have.  
Red Slipper Warrior Project fill that void in treatment by addressing the emotional component of a cancer diagnosis. 

Better fighters win more often.  Our goal is to make better fighters.
