The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is one of Columbia's leading poverty services organizations and provides Boone County's only homeless shelter that accepts families with children.

The Salvation Army believes in faith put into action and making life better for others. Our services meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs to rebuild lives and create lasting change. Help is given freely and without discrimination, while preserving the individual's dignity. We're here to change lives, one at a time.

Among the myriad things our local Salvation Army provides to help our neighbors in need get back on their feet -- assistance with rent and utilities; our thrift store, with extremely inexpensive clothing and household goods; a computer lab for job searches and other needs; various services to brighten Christmas for kids and families; thousands of free meals; and so many other services.
