ESTABLISHED BY LOCAL FEMALE LEADERS

WIN for Columbia was established in 1994 by local female leaders who believed in creating an organization to promote and encourage the participation of girls and women of all ages in athletics and physical fitness.  WIN has a Board of Directors that assist in guiding the mission and operations.

Your donation to WIN for Columbia will support our Together We Win grant program. Together We Win provides financial support to girls who wish to participate in athletic activities and leagues, attend camps and training opportunities, and have the proper gear of equipment to participate in activities. 

Past recipients of the Together We Win grant have participating in gymnastics, track and field, basketball, dance, and more! 

WIN is committed to supporting women in sports because by age 14, many girls drop out of sports at twice the rate of boys.  Lack of access, social stigma, lack of positive role models, and onset of puberty, are a few reasons girls are dropping out at an alarming rate. As such, girls are missing out on the immense benefits kids get from playing sports - teamwork, resilience, fitness, leadership and self-confidence, among others. Through WIN programming and funding, WIN strives to make an impact in girls' ability to stay in sports and athletic activities.
