Boone County Community Against Violence (BCCAV) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2019 in memory of 18-year-old Nadria Wright, whose tragic death inspired her mother, Shaunda Hamilton, to turn grief into action.

BCCAV fills a critical gap in support for families affected by gun violence, providing trauma-informed care, advocacy, and healing programs that help survivors rebuild their lives. Since its founding, BCCAV has served individuals through advocacy, resource navigation, and community healing events.

Key programs include the R.E.A.L. Program (Resourcing and Empowering All Lives)—a six-week circle of support and goal-setting series that helps survivors find strength, healing, and direction—as well as the Annual Survivor Retreat, Remembrance Walk, and partnerships with local agencies to ensure survivors have access to justice and recovery resources.

Your support helps BCCAV continue its mission to restore hope, uplift survivors, and build safer, stronger communities across Boone County.
