Wrap for Road Safety

2025 will wrap up (see what I did there?) my 6th year on Local Motion's Board of Directors. I first became interested in Local Motion because of my passion for sustainability and my love of leisurely rides along Columbia's trails. Now, I’m energized by their commitment to educating the community and pushing for infrastructure and programs that promote people safely walking, biking, and riding transit alongside our midwestern car culture.

As a family of five that walks, plays, and moves through Columbia on two wheels, I can enjoy the improvements (Oh hey, Bike Blvd and Greenbriar Connector!) and recognize the shortfalls (I see you, sidewalk to nowhere and truck blocking the crosswalk!) of our city's transportation sector. Local Motion's team works with neighborhood leaders, City staff, and elected officials to develop solutions that will benefit everyone.
