Thank you for considering MRBO during CoMoGives. Your support helps us continue our mission to protect wildlife, preserve habitats, and inspire people to take part in conservation actions that foster a healthy environment for all.  Please see the "Mission & Action" tab to get a look at how we deliver our conservation mission.

For CoMoGives 2025, we have four main giving areas, or "campaigns".  Please see the Featured Campaign pages below for more information and to make a gift.

Youth Education
The MRBO staff reach thousands of young people each year with outdoor programs designed to inspire a love of nature. Funding is always needed to support MRBO's outstanding education staff members.  Program examples include:

Young Explorers and Junior Naturalist day camps for ages 8 - 14
Dozens of programs for youth from low-income households in Kansas City
Nature School experiences for rural youth

American Kestrel Project

Missouri’s American Kestrel Nest Box Monitoring Project supports one of our state’s most colorful and charismatic falcons. Each season, MRBO works with landowners and community partners to install, monitor, and maintain nest boxes across Missouri—providing safe, reliable nesting sites for kestrels as natural cavities become increasingly scarce. This work helps us track population trends, improve habitat stewardship, and give more young kestrels a successful start. Learn more on our website about the project!

During CoMoGives, your donation will be doubled thanks to a generous matching gift from Susan Lordi Marker, who is matching all contributions up to $10,000. Thank you to some of our current supporters we have already reached 25% of our goal! Give today and make twice the impact for kestrels across Missouri!

Community Engagement
We believe that humans and wildlife can not only peacefully co-exist, but that we are all part of one natural system.  MRBO's community engagement programs cover a diverse spectrum of topics, from how to address harmful light pollution to saving birds from window collisions and from reducing plastic pollution to how to work with decision-makers.

General Operations
Every nonprofit organization has to "keep the lights on" and responsibly oversee its operations.  MRBO's general operations include maintaining a visitor center to welcome people both new and experienced in conservation; networking and organizing with partners across Missouri to deliver conservation actions; and ensuring the highest standards of fiduciary duties.

All CoMoGives donations to MRBO's general operations campaign will be matched up to $10,000 thanks to a generous gift from the Loveland Family Foundation.
